Overview
“Rossmore” is, by all accounts, a show property with some of the best buffel country in Qld. It has been owned by John & Libby Kibble since 1999. The property has seen many millions of dollars invested in land clearing, pasture development and infrastructure. “Rossmore” is primarily scrub soil ranging from what used to be big Belah country to the north tending to river flats along the Moonie River in the central parts, and pure heavy Brigalow soils to the south.
This is heavy buffel country at its best!
“Rossmore” is brilliantly watered with 3 flowing bores, 13 cup & saucer troughs, 24 other troughs, 9 tanks, over 20 km of poly pipe, 14 dams and 6 major lagoons.
The property also features a double frontage to the Moonie River and a large permanent picturesque tree lined lagoon at the main homestead for domestic and recreational purposes. There are three sets of drafting yards, a modern homestead, a Manager’s residence and a staff cottage.
“Rossmore” is currently carrying 1,358 steers, 614 heifers and 241 breeders of which 1,122 head are fattening on 1,700 acres of oats.
“Rossmore” is an outstanding property with a heavy carrying capacity equally suited to running large numbers of breeders, fattening bullocks or backgrounding yearlings through to “feedlot entry weight”. The property also has a potential to farm up to 13,000 acres for grain production.
“Rossmore” has been set up to minimise labour with an extensive laneway system and 3 strategically located drafting yards.
The Vendors run “Rossmore” as a backgrounding operation supplying nearby feedlots with good quality Angus, Hereford, Droughtmaster and Santa cross steers. Suitable cattle are sourced from local sale yards and private on property purchases by a professional cattle buyer.
“Rossmore” has traditionally supplied feedlots at Oakey and Mungindi for the last 10 years.
Properties in the calibre of “Rossmore” are not often seen on the market. The property is well located to southern markets and feedlots and would fit in well with a northern breeding operation.
