Overview

Hollywood“Hollywood” is a large breeding and fattening property located on the western boundary of “Garfield”. Both properties have been owned by the Ferguson Family since 1937.

“Hollywood” features 1,000’s of acres of a buffel fattening country with an estimated 15,547 acres developed and sown to buffel pastures.

The property features excellent improvements throughout including:-

  • A new steel yard that will handle up to 1,000 head.
  • Hollywood2 good bores and 4 permanent springs and 1 permanent well, all equipped capable of watering the whole the property without the dams “if required in dry times”.
  • Both bores are connected to rural main’s power.

Seasonal conditions are first class with 13 inches of rain this year.

Country

  • A well balanced mix of predominantly Brigalow soils in the good country tending back to Gidyea, Ironbark and Box in the other areas.
  • Approximately 2,500 acres of Heart Leaf poison country to the western parts.

Note
Heartleaf poisoning on the property is limited to very low losses estimated at under 5 to 10 head per year.

  • Equipped with a Grundfos submersible pump lifting to a 10,000 gallon poly tank supplying troughs through a 63mm pipeline to Sue’s Bore.

Alice Bore (located at main yard)

  • Drilled and cased in 1995.
  • Depth 228m and cased to 213m.
  • Standing water level 62ft.
  • Rural power connected to Grundfos submersible at 110ft lifting to a 3,000 gallon tank on a 20ft stand feeding two troughs in the main yards.
  • Gravity feeds from above tank through 11.3km x 2” and 5.6km x 1 ½” pipeline to Big Thalia, Little Thalia, Big Alice, No 3 Alice, No 2 Alice and Washpool.
